Stephen Paul Goold went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 13, 2016. Steve was a loving husband to his wife Pam of 46 years, a proud father to his children, Lori (Chris) Shedd and Steve (Kristyn) Goold, and a joyful grandpa to Isaac Goold, Jolie, Brynn, Leah and Kayley Shedd, and Betty and Suzy Goold.
Steve was a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, IA, Talbot Theological Seminary in La Mirada, CA, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL.
Lovingly known as Pastor Steve, he served as Senior Pastor at Emmanual Church in Burbank, CA, (1978-1990) and New Hope Church in New Hope, MN. (1990-2014). Pastor Steve loved the Word of God and the congregations where he ministered.
After retirement Steve enjoyed many special family times, landscaping at home, and meeting with friends. He also continued in interim preaching roles, never losing his desire to preach the truth of the Bible.
In addition to his immediate family, he will be greatly missed by his siblings Jo Harris, Linda Hulett (Jim), Bill Goold, Alice Sorrell (David), his sister-in-law Karen Stewart (Bob) and many nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Don and Betty Goold.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, September 21st at New Hope Church. Times of visitation with the family will begin at noon prior to the service and also following the service. A private burial will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to New Hope Church or Family Research Council.
